Hello again, been a while since I last updated everyone on my current situation, so I thought I’d share what’s going on with me! My plans have rarely changed in the past year since I graduated from college, but there is a big change coming soon. This will mean I’ll need to close commissions for about 2 months this summer- I feel that I owe everyone an explanation! Basically, I have been away from most of my IRL friends for almost 6 years, following my family’s relocation to be closer to relatives. I’ve been planning to go back to Colorado, where I’m from, to visit everyone, but between college and the peak of the pandemic, it just wasn’t feasible. This summer I received an offer to stay with old neighbors back home from June 3 to July 15, so I am taking their offer and will be out of town for that time, visiting everyone I can, doing a bit of extra traveling out west, and just generally enjoying everything Colorado has to offer. Hoping that, as my first trip on my own, I’ll gain some useful experience and will be able to do more like this in the future, perhaps even visiting conventions throughout the US someday. However, this is going to mean a significant break in my drawing schedule. I have been talking with the family who’s letting me stay with them, and it has become pretty clear that they have a ton of plans for me, even without factoring in the 4-5 other friends I’ll be seeing. Between all those plans and adjusting to the altitude again, it’s likely I’ll be quite fully booked and extremely exhausted by the end of each day. So there’s really no way I can commit to drawing to the extent I do when I’m at home. I also want to give myself time to plan for the trip and pack, as well as time to finish up any pending commissions. Therefore, I am going to be closing commissions on Friday, May 20th, and they will stay closed until sometime in mid/late July, when I will post another journal to announce the next opening. I’ll also post a journal on May 20th announcing I’m officially closed, but I thought I’d give everyone some advance notice now so people who want to submit ideas can do so. Additionally, it may be harder to contact me on any social media during my time out of town, due to my extremely busy schedule. I will still try my best to reply to any pressing messages, and to keep up with friends, but those replies might be a bit delayed. If you have any concerns about not hearing from me for what seems like an unusual amount of time, rest assured I’m doing quite well unless I specifically say otherwise! I’m simply not used to being that busy, it’s going to be a completely different living arrangement with people who do a lot more each day than my own family does here. Very excited for my trip, I have been anticipating this ever since I moved all those years ago. But in order to enjoy my vacation to the fullest, I’ll have to sacrifice a lot of my drawing productivity for roughly a month and a half, and focus on other things. And I will be back to the usual schedule upon my return home! If you have any questions or concerns, please make sure to let me know! I want to make sure everyone here is up to date with the changes in my schedule. Just to clarify, I am still open for commissions! They will be closing on May 20th, until sometime after July 15th. Thank you for all the support recently, and for checking out my journal here! I’ll inform you of any changes before I leave, but right now my plan looks pretty solid. Hope the information shared here has been helpful!
